Cat Litter! We have a cat named Scooter and I hate the smell of his litter. I talked to our vet when we got Scooter declawed and he told us that instead of using cat litter he suggest us use shredded newspaper so that his claws would not get infected. We continued using this because it was so cheap for us to do and it was one less thing to buy. We have had great success with the shredded paper as litter with no problems. We have found that it is easier to use sales ads that are old. When we used regular newspaper the ink would get on his paws and it would be carried throughout the house. So if you choose to do this use the ads with the slicker gloss surface.
